Nonprofits in Washington: Update, September 2008
Search by County (each file is 30.2 KB PDF)

These tables show the count in April 2008 of registered 501(c)(3) organizations for a range of fields of service for Washington and for each county in the state. For reporting organizations (see NOTE below), the tables also show the total revenues for each group of organizations for their most recent fiscal year and the total end-of-year assets for organizations in that group.

NOTE: These tables are derived from Internal Revenue Service data contained in the NCCSDataWeb of the National Center for Charitable Statistics (used by permission). They reflect the information available from initial filings with the IRS (Form 1023) and annual information returns (Form 990, Form 990-EZ and Form 990-PF). Some organizations are included in the IRS records but did not file a Form 990 within the two years preceding April 2008; such organizations are tallied in the column titled “Non-filers”; only the field of service assigned at the time of processing by the IRS is available for these organizations. The number of organizations which filed a Form 990 within the 24 months ending in April 2008 is shown in the column headed “Number”; the reported revenue and assets are totaled in the columns to the right. Some of the filing organizations filed a Form 990 that showed $0 in revenue or assets; they are included in the column headed “Number” but, of course, they do not contribute to the report of revenues and assets shown to the right. The percentages in the county-by-county tables are calculated using the totals for each county.
