Julita Eleveld

Julita developed her financial skills as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley in New York, and her marketing and brand management skills at Procter & Gamble, Nestle, Gap, and BabyCenter (a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson) in Ohio and California. After moving to Seattle in 2000, Julita decided to apply these skills in the nonprofit sector. Julita was a founding staff member at the Seattle Girls' School, and served in various roles including Director of Business and Development, Director of Admissions, Co-Head Soccer Coach, and now, Trustee. She is a member of the Washington Women's Foundation, a former board member for the Wedgwood Cooperative Preschool, and a former consultant for the Family Leadership Fund, a family foundation that seeks to improve the lives of children and families in communities of color and in communities disproportionately represented in poverty. Julita has a BA in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford University, and was a Fulbright Scholar at the National University of Singapore.
Putnam Barber

Put Barber is a Senior Advisor for the Nancy Bell Evans Center.
He has worked since the early 1990s in Seattle to build strong nonprofits and strong communities in his home state of Washington through The Evergreen State Society, Executive Alliance ( http://www.exec-alliance.org ), the Institute of Public Service at Seattle University and the Nancy Bell Evans Center. He has also been the editor of the Nonprofit FAQ ( http://www.nonprofits.org ) since it began; it is now a service of Action Without Borders / Idealist.Org. He also teaches about nonprofits in the Master of Public Administration program at Seattle University and serves on the editorial board for Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly. He is an Advisor to the American Law Institute's project to develop a volume presenting The Principles of the Law of Nonprofit Organizations. He serves on the board of the Thomas C. Wales Foundation ( http://www.walesfoundation.org ) and has been Chair of the Municipal League of King County ( http://www.munileague.org ).

Cory Sbarbaro

Cory Sbarbaro is a Senior Advisor for the Nancy Bell Evans Center. In addition to his role at the Evans School, Cory is founder and principal of Turnpoint Consulting, an independent firm dedicated to guiding nonprofit organizations through change and transition. His areas of expertise include interim leadership, organizational assessment, planning and strategy formation, executive coaching, and board development. Cory is a trainer for United Way of King County and the Nonprofit Center of South Puget Sound, and an instructor for the Nonprofit Management Certificate Program at the University of Washington. He was co-creator of the Pacific Northwest Nonprofit Executive Leadership Institute, and currently serves as lead instructor for the program.
Cory is a graduate of the Evans School, where he obtained his MPA degree with an emphasis in public and nonprofit management, organizational development, and fiscal affairs. He has served on several nonprofit boards, and is currently Board President of Solid Ground.
Tim Cormier

Tim Cormier is the Research Assistant for the Nancy Bell Evans Center. He is a first-year student at the Evans School and pursuing his Masters degree in Public Administration with a focus on international development. Tim received his Bachelor of Science degree in General Management from Boston College.
After his undergraduate studies, Tim served as an educational development and HIV/AIDS volunteer for the United States Peace Corps in Zambia. Since moving to Seattle in April 2007, Tim has worked at Easter Seals Washington, a statewide disability services organization, coordinating fundraising and development projects. Tim has significant experience in the design and implementation of nonprofit marketing and event initiatives, as well as the coordination of community-based programs.
Andrea Valdez

Andrea Valdez is Research Assistant for Center Director and Professor Steven Rathgeb Smith. Andrea is a first-year student at the University of Washington currently pursuing a Master in Public Administration. She is a graduate of the University of California, Riverside with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Prior to her studies, Andrea was Program Coordinator for the California Youth Advocacy Network (CYAN), a nonprofit organization providing advocacy training to youth and young adults. Ms. Valdez has extensive experience in community organizing, program implementation, and training material development.
